Job summary

Sargent & Lundy invites experienced instrumentation and controls engineers to join our Government Services Division, supporting DOE sites and national labs. You will contribute to PLC-based control systems, SIS projects, and industrial automation platforms within a multidisciplinary team.

The role emphasizes hands-on design, documentation, and testing, plus ongoing training in our Automation Lab and participation in Communities of Practice.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in engineering (MS preferred)
• Experience with instrumentation & controls or automation and control systems engineering
• Ability to obtain US Government security clearance
• Experience designing, programming, documenting, and testing automated machinery or processes
• Experience with industrial communication design (Ethernet IP, Modbus, Profibus)
• Producing P&IDs, Control System Narratives, I/O Lists, logic and wiring diagrams; FAT procedures and O&M manuals

Responsibilities

• Work on PLC/SIS project teams for control system platforms
• Prepare specifications and design media for software, instrumentation, and control system procurement
• Participate in Automation Lab training and Communities of Practice
• Collaborate with cross-discipline teams to advance automation projects
• Travel to client offices and project sites as required
