Job summary

BlackSky seeks a Program Manager to drive launch campaigns at our Seattle office on a hybrid schedule. You will own the integrated launch plan, manage risk, and act as the onsite lead to coordinate with engineers, procurement, and providers.

The ideal candidate has a strong engineering background, 8 years in PM, and experience with hardware/software dependencies and launch integrations. Travel up to 50% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
• 8 years of direct project management experience or related experience.
• Experience working with complex hardware and software dependencies.
• Experience with launch providers as a mission manager or launch integration lead.
• Ability to manage schedules with critical dependencies and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full scope of launch contracting, documents and deliverables and scheduling.
• Develop integrated plans and schedules to support testing and artifacts for launch.
• Own daily tasking and deconfliction within launch campaign responsibilities.
• Develop a training program for team members supporting launch campaigns.
• Support the overall campaign as onsite launch lead representative.
• Grow relationships with launch providers and track long-term opportunities.
• Identify risks to launch schedule and integration campaign and implement mitigations.
• Lead release gate process for satellite buy-off.
• Interface with engineering to evaluate spec compliance and product improvements.
• Coordinate with procurement to support build-to-print parts for launch interfaces.
• Guide engineering through milestone reviews including Preliminary Design and Flight Readiness.
• Manage reports and standard documentation for satellite qualification and flight testing.
