Job summary

BlackSky seeks a Senior Satellite Launch Manager to drive launch campaigns from Seattle on a hybrid basis, with travel up to 50% to Tukwila and launch sites. You will oversee contracting, schedules, training, and risk management to ensure on-time delivery of launch activities.

You will coordinate with engineering, procurement, and launch providers, lead milestone reviews, and develop standard docs for satellite qualification and flight testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 8 years of PM experience or related field.
• Experience with space/satellite launch programs.
• Experience with hardware-software dependent systems.
• Launch provider engagements as mission manager/integration lead.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Oversee launch contracting, documents, deliverables, and scheduling.
• Develop integrated plans and schedules for tests and artifacts.
• Own daily tasking and deconfliction within launch campaign scope.
• Develop training program defining roles, procedures, and best practices.
• Support the overall campaign as onsite launch lead representative.
• Grow relationships with launch providers and track long-term opportunities.
• Identify risks to launch schedule and plan mitigations.
• Lead gate process for satellite buy-off for flight.
• Interface with engineering to improve subsystems for schedule performance.
• Track action items across engineering and procurement teams.
• Coordinate with procurement for build-to-print parts.
• Guide engineering through milestone reviews and launch readiness.
• Manage reports and standard documentation for satellite qualification and testing.
• Interface with full system schedule and identify key milestones.
• Facilitate satellite site testing and training material development.
