Job summary

The AmLaw 100 international law firm in California seeks a talented associate to join its Labor & Employment Group in Los Angeles and San Francisco. The role focuses on wage and hour class actions, supporting sophisticated employers, with a path to trial work in a collaborative, high-performance environment.

Ideal candidates hold a JD from a top-tier law school, are California-bar admitted, and have 3–5 years of employment litigation experience, including defending wage-and-hour claims.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of substantive employment litigation experience.
• Extensive experience defending wage-and-hour claims and class actions.
• Active California Bar admission in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Handle complex employment litigation matters, including the defense of wage & hour claims and wage & hour class actions.
• Draft and refine pleadings, motions, class certification briefs, and related filings.
• Participate in trials and contribute to trial preparation work.
• Manage and oversee discovery, including written discovery, document review, and deposition preparation.
• Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys across the firm's CA offices to develop litigation strategies.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on evolving class action issues.
• Maintain clear, client-ready communication and deliver practical guidance.
