Job summary

Michigan International Prep School seeks a K-5 Music Instructor and 5th Grade Piano Instructor for class and private lessons. You will lead a pioneering online Arts program, deliver synchronous curricula, and collaborate with the Director of the Arts to support student learning.

The role requires Michigan teaching certification, strong communication, and the ability to work both online and in the Learning Lab, with a focus on student engagement and achievement.

Qualifications

• Michigan Music Teaching Certificate (JX/JQ) required.
• Ability to analyze curriculum to standards.
• Excellent student assessment practices and Grading.

Responsibilities

• Create and teach synchronous virtual curriculum for K/1, 2/3, 4/5 Music.
• Plan and teach the 5th Grade Piano 1 class.
• Provide 1-on-1 private instruction aligned with curriculum.
• Participate in weekly Arts department meetings.
• Monitor student progress and keep courses on track.
• Build trusting relationships with students and families.
• Deliver instruction in person and online via Google Meet.
