Qualifications

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with K-12 English as a Second Language (NS) or Bilingual (Y_) endorsement.
• Experience providing targeted K-12 English Language Development instruction.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
• Expertise using assessment data to drive language instruction and placement.
• Team-oriented and collaborative work style.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Positive, proactive attitude and self-starter mindset.
• Comfort with technology and rapid adaptation to new tools (Chrome/Google).
• Plan and evaluate strategies to improve instruction.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct individual and small-group K-12 English Language Development instruction (push-in, pull-out, or virtual).
• Administer the WIDA Screener to new enrollees to determine eligibility.
• Coordinate and administer annual WIDA ACCESS assessments in line with testing timelines.
• Track and monitor the progress of former EL students during post-exit monitoring window.
• Maintain accurate state compliance records, including language plans and data reporting.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to scaffold content and accommodations.
• Participate in MTSS teams for multilingual learners needing interventions.
• Communicate language services and student progress with families.
