Beacon Systems, Inc. is hiring a Junior Staff Accountant for a hybrid role in Cranston, RI. The position involves processing vendor and subrecipient invoices, supporting monthly and annual financial reporting, and assisting with reconciliations across state and federal systems.

You will help prepare adjusting entries and maintain audit-ready documentation while collaborating with the Finance Team. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in accounting/finance, has 1–2 years of accounting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Understanding basic accounting principles, debits/credits, and reconciliations.
• Solid Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.

Responsabilités

• Process vendor and subrecipient invoices; verify documentation, chart of account, project and cost center coding.
• Review approvals and track payment status for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
• Assist with reconciliations across partner state and external agencies.
• Prepare draft adjusting entries for review by the Senior Accountant.
• Maintain organized files and documentation to support audits and federal compliance.
• Gather data and prepare schedules for state and federal reports.
• Assist with data entry, testing, and rollout of new financial and program management systems.
• Provide other administrative and finance support as needed.
