Job summary

Health Care Service Corporation in Chicago seeks an Accountant I to research and apply premiums, process provider refunds and payments, and support reporting. You will evaluate data for reasonableness, handle inquiries, and assist with daily payment management across checks, ACH, and wires.

The role requires a accounting background, proficiency with MS Office/Access, and experience with financial systems; a hybrid schedule is in effect with in-office presence three days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or management, or 4 years accounting experience.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Access; experience with financial systems.
• Analytical skills with statistical data analysis and reporting ability.

Responsibilities

• Research and apply premiums and process provider refunds and misc payments.
• Respond to internal and external customer inquiries and assist with reports.
• Manage daily payments including checks, ACH, and wire transfers; reconcile data.
