Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Tallahassee, FL is seeking an ITS Engineer to join a client-embedded team. You will help plan, design, implement, operate, and maintain transportation communications and infrastructure systems in statewide deployments.

Collaborate with client staff, operations, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical, dependable, and constructible solutions for complex field environments while advancing ITS technology.

Qualifications

• Experience with ITS, traffic signals, transportation technology, or roadway safety projects.
• Experience with ITS communications and networking design including fiber, Ethernet, IP networking.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and EIT certification; PE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply ITS engineering principles to planning, design, operation, and maintenance of ITS infrastructure.
• Develop solutions for field device connectivity and network transport.
• Prepare scopes of work, specifications, layouts, and drawings for ITS projects.
• Conduct site reviews, field assessments, and evaluations for system improvements.
• Evaluate design approaches, applicable codes, and client standards.
• Prepare studies, reports, permits, cost estimates, and labor-hour estimates.
• Provide support during procurement, construction, and system integration.
• Perform field inspections and condition assessments of ITS assets.
• Collaborate with ITS operations, maintenance, IT, and engineering teams.
• Participate in QA/QC activities and design/drawing reviews.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations to clients and stakeholders.
• Other duties as assigned.
