Job summary

KINETIQ in the Greater Chicago Area seeks an hands-on Infrastructure & Security Engineer to join a manufacturing-focused IT team. You will blend enterprise infrastructure administration, cybersecurity engineering, and Level 2/3 technical support across IT, Security, and Compliance.

You will design, implement, and secure identity, endpoints, servers, networks, and cloud environments; administer Active Directory and patch management; monitor MDR services; and drive remediation and audit readiness

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in cybersecurity, IT, or engineering.
• 3–5+ years in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or cybersecurity engineering.
• Hands-on with Active Directory, Windows Server and endpoints.
• Experience with system hardening, vulnerability management, incident response, and security investigations.
• Ability to translate security requirements into technical controls and documentation.
• Strong cross-team communication and collaboration; travel willingness.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls across identity, endpoint, server, network, cloud, and data environments.
• Administer Active Directory, Windows Server, endpoints, and patching with IT teams.
• Monitor endpoint protection, vulnerability management, and MDR services.
• Investigate security alerts and coordinate containment and remediation.
• Lead risk-based OS and third-party patching, testing, deployment, and verification.
• Maintain secure configuration baselines, technical standards, documentation, and audit evidence.
• Act as Level 2/3 escalation for infrastructure and security issues.
