Job summary

Amentum is seeking an IT Scrum Master to support the Missile Defense Agency on the IRES contract. The role partners with the Release Train Engineer to lead agile teams across HSV and COS, operating in a blended onsite/remote setup to coordinate across time zones and locations in Huntsville and Colorado Springs.

Responsibilities include aligning Scrum Master activities with SAFe, coaching teams, maintaining backlogs with Product Owners, delivering weekly metrics, and ensuring cybersecurity and IT

Qualifications

• Must have 4+ years of general (full-time) work experience.
• Must have 2+ years directly related experience acting as a Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or Project Manager.
• Must hold a current Agile certification (e.g., CSM, PSM I, or SSM).
• Must have experience using Agile management and collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps) to facilitate remote and hybrid teams.
• Must have active DoD security clearances (DoW Secret; ability to obtain Top Secret).

Responsibilities

• Partner directly with the RTE to define, mature, and align the Scrum Master role with program-level SAFe frameworks and Agile release trains.
• Collaborate with the RTE to design, implement, and train the IT team on customized Agile processes.
• Establish a cohesive "one-team" dynamic across HSV and COS locations using virtual tools.
• Facilitate an optimized Agile cadence tailored to IT and infrastructure delivery cycles.
• Guide and coach the team on Agile/Scrum practices to deliver high-quality IT solutions.
• Assist the Product Owner with backlog maintenance and translating requirements into user stories.
• Ensure data for planning is documented in the system of record for reporting and metrics.
• Deliver metrics to the RTE on a weekly basis.
• Identify and resolve impediments hindering sprint goals.
• Manage team capacity, velocity, and burn-down charts using Agile tools.
