Job summary

The United States Senate is seeking an IT Request Processing Technician to join our Chief Information Officer team. This role focuses on assisting customers with IT equipment purchases and initiating purchase orders for approved Senate IT equipment, emphasizing Excel-based data management and clear communication with Senate offices.

The position requires attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple procurement tasks, and a collaborative approach to resolving issues.

Qualifications

• Ability to review detailed requests, financial information, quotes, invoices, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Knowledge of purchase orders, purchase requisitions, invoice processing, procurement workflows, or eProcurement.
• Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to explain requirements and resolve issues with customers and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage and track multiple requests and priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Ability to learn and apply organizational policies, procedures, funding requirements, and technology procurement processes.
• Ability to learn and effectively use internal financial, procurement, and asset management systems.

Responsibilities

• Reviews, processes, and tracks IT procurement requests for accuracy, funding, documentation, and policy compliance.
• Creates and manages purchase requisitions, purchase orders, change orders, and contract-related orders for IT products and services.
• Reviews and processes invoices and resolves procurement, billing, and payment discrepancies.
• Provides customer support and guidance for standard, specialized, and non-standard technology purchases.
• Coordinates technology procurement for Senate Media Centers and Office Automation requirements.
