Job summary

The US Senate is seeking an IT Request Processing Technician to support procurement activities for IT equipment, software, and services, and to provide customer service for technology purchases.

The role involves reviewing requests for accuracy, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring timely processing through the procurement and payment lifecycle, while adhering to funding requirements and organizational policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to review detailed requests, financial information, quotes, invoices, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Knowledge of or experience with purchase orders, purchase requisitions, invoice processing, procurement workflows, or eProcurement.
• Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to explain requirements and resolve issues with customers and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage and track multiple requests and priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to learn and apply organizational policies, procedures, funding requirements, and technology procurement processes.
• Ability to learn and effectively use internal financial, procurement, and asset management systems.

Responsibilities

• Initiates and manages procurement activities for approved IT equipment, software, and services and provides customer support for specialized or non-standard technology purchases.
• Reviews requests for accuracy, funding, documentation, and applicable requirements; coordinates with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies; and supports accurate and timely processing throughout the procurement and payment lifecycle.
