Job summary

The University of Iowa is seeking an IT Process Design Engineer to design, implement, and continuously improve enterprise IT service management and operational excellence initiatives. You will engineer solutions across IT, clinical, and operational stakeholders to modernize service delivery and enable data-driven decisions.

Qualifications include a Master’s degree and 2+ years in operations or process engineering, with experience in regulated health care environments and ITIL/Lean/Agile methods.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in operations, performance improvement, or process engineering.
• Experience designing, implementing, supporting, or integrating enterprise technology platforms.
• Experience troubleshooting complex technical issues and performing root cause analysis.
• Experience working in large-scale, highly regulated environments.
• Experience in health care or complex service delivery environments.
• Experience with improvement methodologies (Lean, ITIL, Agile).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic analytics tools.
• Effective communicator with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, matrixed environment.

Responsibilities

• Engineer integrations between ITSM platforms, operational systems, monitoring tools, and enterprise apps.
• Develop technical solutions to improve availability, performance, and scalability.
• Analyze data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and improvements.
• Perform root cause analyses and implement fixes.
• Establish monitoring frameworks to support proactive service management.
• Collaborate with Halo ITSM team on platform design and redesign.
