Job summary

The University of Iowa is seeking an IT Process Design Engineer to lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of enterprise IT service management solutions. The role focuses on automation, analytics, and scalable platform enhancements across health care and academic technology environments.

Reporting to the Lead Application Developer (HCIS), the engineer will collaborate with IT, clinical, and operational teams to modernize service delivery, translate requirements into sustainable

Qualifications

• 2+ years in operations, performance improvement, or process engineering.
• Experience designing, implementing, supporting, or integrating enterprise technology platforms.
• Experience troubleshooting complex technical issues and performing root cause analysis.
• Experience in large-scale, highly regulated, or complex operational environments.
• Experience in health care or complex service delivery.
• Experience with improvement methodologies (Lean, ITIL, Agile).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic analytics tools.
• Effective communicator with the ability to engage senior leaders and other cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement ITSM and enterprise platform improvements.
• Engineer integrations between ITSM, monitoring tools, and apps.
• Analyze data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement technical solutions.
• Develop monitoring frameworks and KPIs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners on process redesign.
