Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care Information Systems department seeks an IT Process Designer in a hybrid role within the HCIS Service Management team. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Engineering, Business Administration or related field.
• 1 year of experience in operations, performance improvement, or process engineering.
• Experience in health care or complex service delivery environments.
• Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma or related improvement methodologies.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and basic analytics tools.
• Effective communicator with experience engaging senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, matrixed environment and manage ambiguity.
• Experience working in a welcoming and respectful workplace.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational implementation of improvement initiatives translating goals into executable changes.
• Map, analyze and optimize workflows to improve efficiency and standardize processes.
• Collaborate with Halo ITSM team on design or redesign efforts.
• Develop and maintain process standards, KPIs, and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor performance metrics and sustain improvements.
• Document current and future state processes with IT and operations stakeholders.
• Respond to operational issues and resolve disruptions affecting priorities.
• Define requirements with cross-functional teams to reduce bottlenecks and automate where possible.
• Create clear documentation of workflows and system updates for knowledge transfer.
