Job summary

Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions is seeking an IT Manager to lead the Corporate IT team across Canton, MA; Boston, MA; Farmington, CT or Raleigh, NC on a hybrid schedule. You will supervise direct reports, align IT capabilities with business goals, and drive modernization through CI/CD, IaC, and secure software delivery.

The role requires 7–10 years of IT/ software engineering experience, strong .NET Core, React, Java, and Azure skills, plus hands-on API development and DevOps expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related field or equivalent work experience.
• 7–10 years of IT and software engineering experience, including hands-on application development and leadership of complex delivery or modernization initiatives.
• Prior people management, supervisory or technical team leadership experience, with demonstrated success coaching and developing engineers.
• Strong technical experience with .NET Core, React, Java and Microsoft Azure in enterprise application environments.
• Strong service and API development experience, including RESTful design, integration patterns, security, performance, observability and operational support.
• Experience with modern software engineering practices, agile delivery, automated testing, DevOps/DevSecOps, CI/CD and cloud-based delivery.
• Practical experience applying AI and GenAI to software development, testing, modernization, operations or developer productivity.
• Advanced understanding of IT applications and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and oversight to direct reports and team by establishing goals, providing coaching and feedback, evaluating performance, and supporting development and training initiatives.
• Establishes and maintains strong business relationships with senior and operating level business leaders across the organization, customers and vendors.
• Be a thought partner to the team and business units, providing recommendations for improvement of business processes by leveraging existing IT capabilities and/or defining new strategic IT capabilities.
• Acts as the point of contact for escalated department/team issues and facilitate the prioritization process.
• Establish and reinforce clean-code practices, reusable components, automated testing and engineering standards that improve maintainability and reduce technical debt.
• Advance DevSecOps capabilities, including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, deployment automation, observability, environment management and operational readiness.
• Promote responsible adoption of AI and GenAI across software development, testing, modernization, support and developer productivity while aligning with security, risk and governance expectations.
• Manages and leads projects and project life cycle; accountable for identifying needs, securing commitments and monitoring progress of deliverables.
• Participate in key IT and assigned business unit governance, planning and initiative review teams, committees and meetings.
