Job summary

The State of Connecticut, Department of Consumer Protection, Gaming Division seeks a Special Investigator (General) to support investigations of licensee complaints and regulatory enforcement. The role involves liaising with gaming industry stakeholders, preparing investigative reports for legal hearings, and coordinating with division investigators.

Based in Hartford with a hybrid work environment, you will conduct investigations, gather evidence, and represent the division in compliance

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of investigatory experience in health care, insurance claims, law enforcement or a regulatory field.
• College training in consumer protection, health care, law enforcement or related field may substitute for experience; 15 semester hours = 1/2 year, max 4 years for a Bachelor's.
• Master's degree may substitute for one additional year of experience.
• CT Careers Trainee program may substitute for the General Experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations related to assigned complaints and violations; interview witnesses and gather information.
• Secure statements, documents, records, and exhibits for hearings and court proceedings.
• Research and evaluate data; compile information; write reports and recommend actions.
• Prepare affidavits and applications for arrest or search warrants; may testify in hearings and court.
• Conduct surveillance and gather samples for testing; perform related duties as required.
