Burlington Stores, Inc. is seeking an Internal Audit Analyst in New Jersey to support data analytics, automation, and testing across risk-based audits. You will manage your projects, collaborate with business partners, and deliver actionable insights to strengthen controls.

The role emphasizes learning, continuous improvement, and the use of tools like Power BI, SQL, Python, and Excel to design reusable analytics and visualizations that elevate audit coverage while meeting professional standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, information systems, data analytics, computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Progress toward CPA/CIA/CISA or other relevant certification preferred.
• 1–3 years related professional experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, IT and/or internal audit; retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, validate, and maintain reusable data analytics, visualizations, and automated approaches for SOX internal control testing and audits.
• Support the execution of SOX controls testing procedures and documentation.
• Conduct walkthroughs with business owners to document process understanding via narratives and flowcharts.
• Perform detailed internal controls testing using IT system reports and data sources.
• Review SOC reports, evaluate control exceptions, and support remediation with owners.
• Assist in developing audit project scope and perform testing procedures with documentation.
• Identify risks and opportunities for improvement; prepare observations and recommendations for management.
