Job summary

S&B is seeking a Process Engineering Intern to assist with routine assignments under close supervision, applying established design techniques and criteria. You will join a multi-disciplinary team, travel to operating plants when needed, and help develop equipment lists and procurement items.

Eligible: currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering with at least two years completed; U.S. work authorization required; hybrid work in Raleigh, NC.

Qualifications

• Internship requires completion of at least two years of undergraduate studies in Chemical Engineering.
• Previous internship experience is preferred, but not required.
• Must possess the eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Conducts field trips to existing plants to gather operating data and equipment information.
• Gathers data to help prepare equipment specifications, inquiry and purchase requisitions for approval.
• Evaluates vendors' bids and drawings to assure compliance with specifications for simple equipment and specialty items.
• Participates in the preparation of equipment lists, piping line lists and specialty item lists.
• Participates in preparation of design guides, guide specifications and contract proposals.
• Participates in plant Start-ups.
