Job summary

Daley And Associates, LLC is seeking an Interim Accounting Manager for a Boston-area education technology company. This 6‑month contract covers month‑end close, GL, and core accounting operations, with a hands‑on leadership approach and a focus on accuracy and timeliness.

The role requires 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, and proven people management. Hybrid work includes at least 2 days on‑site in Boston; CPA is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience in education technology or similar industry is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains).
• Strong technical accounting knowledge (U.S. GAAP, GL, reconciliations).
• Experience managing budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end close process and TIMELY financial reporting.
• Oversee GL activities, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, AP/AR.
• Prepare and review financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and accurate records.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Support deferred revenue accounting and related entries.
• Develop internal controls and process improvements.
• Coordinate with external auditors and support audits.
• Mentor two direct reports and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Produce ad hoc reporting.
