The Hanover Insurance Group seeks a Litigation Attorney for its Staff Counsel team in Henrico, VA. This full-time exempt role handles complex insurance defense cases from inception through trial, collaborating with claims and business partners across the organization.

In this role you will meet with clients and claims professionals, conduct pre-trials and mediations, and potentially try cases. Strong negotiation, communication, and legal research skills are essential.

Formación

• Admitted to the bar and licensed to practice in Virginia.
• Insurance defense trial experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Meets with clients and claims professionals to resolve cases cost‑effectively.
• Conducts pre-trials, mediations, arbitrations or other legal activities.
• May independently conduct trials.
• Advises claim professionals on evaluations of legal files.
• Provides legal advice to clients and claim professionals.
• Negotiates settlements as directed.
• Attends round table discussions re case status and trial preparedness.
