Job summary

Finger Lakes Community College seeks an Instruction and Assessment Reference Librarian to lead bibliographic instruction, reference services, and library assessment programs in the Charles J. Meder Library.

The role emphasizes collaboration with faculty, coordination of instruction and reference services, and fostering a culture of assessment across library programs. The position supports diverse patrons and advances information literacy.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an ALA-accredited library program.
• At least three years of reference experience including at least one year of library instruction.
• Experience with electronic resources and databases; commitment to diversity and inclusion.
• Knowledge of library emerging technologies and instructional design.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, faculty, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate and administer library instruction aligned with information literacy goals.
• Coordinate reference services and supervise 7–9 part-time librarians.
• Lead library assessment projects and share results with colleagues.
• Maintain training materials and weekly reference desk schedules.
• Collaborate with faculty to integrate library instruction with coursework.
