Job summary

Finger Lakes Community College in Canandaigua, NY seeks an Instruction and Assessment Reference Librarian to lead bibliographic instruction, manage the library assessment program, and collaborate to improve services for students, faculty and the community.

The role requires a Master’s from an ALA-accredited program, at least three years of reference experience including library instruction, and a strong commitment to diversity, inclusion, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an ALA-accredited library program.
• At least three years of reference experience including at least one year of library instruction or classroom teaching experience.
• Demonstrated competence using electronic resources, including electronic and web-accessible databases; evidence of respect for and understanding of people with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and needs; knowledge of library emerging technologies and instructional design.
• Flexibility in adapting to changing organizational priorities and technological environments; strong customer focus with a passion for the profession; excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, community residents, librarians, and support staff.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Instruction: Develop, coordinate and administer library instruction program aligned with the Library's information literacy goals.
• Ensure instructors are aware of desired learning outcomes, goals and objectives of the library instruction program.
• Collaborate with faculty to deliver research assistance and learning activities; serve as a resource for library pedagogy.
