Job summary

Arcadis in Raleigh, NC is seeking an Industrial Water Wastewater Process Engineer with 4+ years of consulting engineering experience to lead process design on industrial water and wastewater projects. The role involves applying physical/chemical treatment, mentoring junior staff, and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams from study through operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering
• 4+ years of progressively increasing responsibility in the industrial water/wastewater field
• Valid driver's license

Responsibilities

• Function as the process engineer on industrial water/wastewater projects
• Apply processes and technologies for physical/chemical primary treatment, biological treatment, membrane treatment, adsorption, filtration, disinfection, thermal evaporation and crystallization
• Receive technical mentoring and guidance from a senior process engineer
• Delegate engineering or scientific calculations/ drawings to junior staff
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary design teams to implement complex treatment solutions, and support implementation of projects from study phase through design, construction, startup and commissioning, and operation and maintenance of treatment systems
• Assist in developing and preparing process design drawings, specifications, calculations, plans, and other technical deliverables for a variety of industrial water projects
• Field work will be required, including surveys/data gathering, construction quality assurance, inspections, bench- and pilot-scale treatability testing
• Assist with system commissioning and start-up, including training plant staff
• Prepare and make presentations to clients and for professional meetings
• Manage projects as necessary to meet both client and Arcadis' expectations
• Supporting business development including proposal preparation and meetings with clients, and travel as needed for meetings, site visits (up to 25%)
