Job summary

First National Bank of Omaha (FNBO) seeks an HR Onboarding Specialist to craft and maintain an exceptional onboarding experience for new employees. You will be the primary contact for candidates, hiring managers, and internal stakeholders, guiding onboarding from pre-arrival through the first 90 days and beyond.

You will manage the end-to-end process, coach managers on operations, and drive improvements to scale onboarding as FNBO grows.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• HR experience or a bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or related field preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with active listening abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, HR systems, ATS, and HR capital management systems (Workday preferred).
• Knowledge of talent acquisition and recruiting work.
• Experience with facilitation and curriculum design.
• Detail-oriented with proactive problem-solving.
• Collaborative, autonomous when needed, fast learner.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end onboarding programs from offer to Day 90 and beyond.
• Coach hiring managers on onboarding best practices and procedures.
• Coordinate pre-hire activities like background checks and documentation collection.
• Maintain data integrity in HRIS/Payroll (Workday) and ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with IT to ensure timely equipment delivery for new hires.
• Manage vendor relationships for background checks and onboarding communications.
• Deliver Enterprise Onboarding, DayOne Orientation, and Discover FNBO sessions.
• Drive continuous improvement of onboarding processes.
