Job summary

Stony-Brook-Community-Medical,-P is seeking an exempt Human Resources Generalist to manage payroll, recruitment, onboarding and employee documentation. The role drives full cycle recruitment from contact to hire and ensures benefits administration aligns with policy.

Responsibilities include open enrollment, data integrity, and coordination between Commack and Hampton Bays locations. 2 remote days possible after probation; hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• Some college or Bachelors degree in business or related field.
• Minimum two years experience in administrative assistant position and/or recruitment experience in health care.
• Minimum of five years of payroll experience.
• Proficient in Excel and Word.
• Knowledge of payroll and employment documentation.
• Knowledge of computer and HR software applications.
• Knowledge of employee benefits.
• Knowledge of employment laws.
• ADP TotalSource experience preferred.
• Travel between Commack and Hampton Bays locations.

Responsibilities

• On-boards new employees with ID badge, benefit information and orientation materials.
• Maintains employee census and updates data; moves terminated employees to inactive status.
• Coordinates onboarding events and benefits orientation.
• Participates in annual open enrollment and processes benefit documents.
• Collaborates with directors to identify staff needs and recruit accordingly.
• Reviews candidates, conducts initial screening interviews and checks references.
• Screens or interviews candidates as needed.
• Ensures compliance with FMLA, Worker's Comp and disability policies.
