Sayres Defense in Washington, DC is seeking an HR Generalist to support a U.S. government contracting environment. The role is hybrid with on-site 2-3 days per week to engage with employees and managers.

You will provide day-to-day HR support across employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, benefits, and compliance, reporting to the HR Business Unit Manager. The position emphasizes confidentiality, sound judgment, and collaboration with multiple departments to manage employee lifecycle

Formación

• Bachelor's degree and 2–4 years relevant progressive HR experience.
• Experience with benefits administration, FMLA, compensation analysis and employee relations.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information (PII).
• Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
• Judgment, sensitivity, and creativity in applying HR policies and laws.
• Professional demeanor and collaborative teamwork.
• Proficiency with HRIS systems and adapting to change.
• Ability to work independently with multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsabilidades

• Serve as day-to-day HR point of contact for employees and managers.
• Provide guidance on and ensure consistent application of HR policies and processes.
• Assist in administration of benefits programs and open enrollment.
• Support development and improvement of HR goals, systems, and processes.
• Maintain personnel files and HR records with confidentiality and accuracy.
• Conduct new hire orientations and improve onboarding practices.
• Coordinate with HR, Payroll, Benefits, Finance, Security, IT, and others to support lifecycle activities.
• Assist with compliance for federal, state, and local requirements.
• Support workers' compensation reporting; prepare HR metrics and reports.
• Guide managers through performance management processes and actions.
• Identify employee development needs with managers.
