Job summary

University of Pittsburgh seeks an HR Data Analyst to transform complex employee data into actionable insights for HR leadership and partners across the University. You will leverage analytics tools to analyze large HR datasets, and build dashboards in Tableau to visualize findings for non-technical audiences.

You will partner with HR leadership to translate ambiguous requirements into concrete technical solutions, write complex SQL queries across Oracle HCM, Taleo, and Salesforce, and develop

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in data analysis or a related role.
• Experience with HR/organizational people data and communicating findings to non-technical audiences.
• Proficient in SQL with ability to write joins and complex queries.
• Understanding data grain and writing queries to avoid duplication and misleading aggregations.
• Strong experience with Tableau for dashboard/report development, including calculated fields and advanced visuals.
• Experience with Python or R for data manipulation and analysis.
• Experience with Alteryx for data automation or transformation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex employee data and provide actionable insights for HR leadership.
• Develop comprehensive reporting solutions and dashboards in Tableau across multiple systems.
• Build automated data workflows to streamline business processes and improve data quality.
• Collaborate with Pitt Digital and other teams to ensure reliable, well-governed data infrastructure.
