Job summary

Impact NW is seeking a Housing Specialist II to provide intensive, community-based social work services under a Housing First framework. You will screen, assess, advocate, and support participants in achieving long-term housing stability as an independent case manager.

The role requires coordinating with landlords and cross-disciplinary teams, and maintaining timely documentation in HMIS. Hybrid work in Clark County, WA with potential travel across counties.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in human services, housing navigation, or case management.
• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field preferred; equivalent professional or lived experience may be substituted for education requirements.
• Experience with mental health, substance use disorders, disabilities, or other long-term barriers to stability.
• Ability to independently manage a caseload and prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Bilingual preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of all program requirements, eligibility criteria, enrollment standards, documentation expectations, and funder definitions.
• Conduct screening, intake, and referral of requests for service.
• Provide trauma-informed, strength-based engagement, assessment, and ongoing case management using Housing First and Assertive Engagement.
• Develop and maintain client relationships promoting independence, stability, and self-determination.
• Assist participants with housing search activities, landlord communication, and lease-up processes.
• Provide landlord advocacy to support housing placement and retention.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary service providers to ensure comprehensive support.
• Educate participants on public benefits while ensuring choice of providers.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of community resources related to housing, mental health, and income support.
• Maintain documentation in HMIS and data systems; ensure compliance with policies and funder requirements.
• Communicate agency policy, mission, and values to participants, landlords, and community members.
• Meet face-to-face with walk-ins and respond to calls/emails for housing resources.
