Qualifications

• Must be proficient in diagnostic and procedure coding for hospital outpatient and professional services.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, APCs and DRGs.
• Experience with EHR systems and coding workflows.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient information confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnostic and procedure codes for outpatients and hospitalist/profee encounters.
• Support CDI, audits, and release of information per policy.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of coding in the EHR system.
• Maintain compliance with GMC policies and HIPAA guidelines.
• Assist HIM staff with clerical tasks and department goals.
