Job summary

Airtight Energy Consulting, Inc. in the Greater Boston area is seeking a HERS Rater to support Boston-area projects.

The role combines field testing, energy modeling, plan review, and project coordination to translate building science into practical decisions that improve performance and reduce environmental impact. Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of related experience, a BS in a technical field, and a RESNET HERS Rater credential (preferred).

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in building design, construction, energy efficiency, or project management.
• BS in Engineering, Architecture, Building Technology, Environmental Studies, or related field.
• RESNET HERS Rater certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Field testing including blower door, duct leakage, and on-site inspections for multifamily buildings.
• Review architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and lighting plans for energy code compliance.
• Energy modeling take-offs and modeling for HERS ratings of new construction and retrofits.
• Guide clients through certification program requirements from design to final verification.
