Job summary

AltaMed Health Services in Commerce, CA seeks an experienced Manager of Health Information Management to lead day-to-day HIM operations, ensuring accurate medical records, timely releases of information, and strong data quality across the organization.

You will partner with clinical leadership, oversee EHR systems (EPIC preferred), ensure HIPAA and CMIA compliance, and drive continuous improvement to support patient care and financial sustainability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in health information management within a healthcare setting (FQHC experience) preferred.
• Experience with electronic health records and automated medical record systems; EPIC experience preferred.
• Familiar with HIPAA and CMIA regulations; knowledge of release of information guidelines.
• RHIT and/or RHIA credentials are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs and manages day-to-day HIM operations to ensure quality, timeliness, and compliance.
• Oversees maintenance and processing of medical records and release of information.
• Ensures compliance with state, federal, and accrediting standards; collaborates with clinical leadership.

Bachelor's degree in Health Information Administration or similar
