Job summary

Mercer in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Health Actuarial Analyst to join our Health Actuarial team. The role is hybrid, requiring three days per week in the office or at a client site, and offers exposure to pricing, valuation, and budgeting for employer health plans.

You will work with senior consultants on designing and pricing health programs, analyzing renewals, and building underwriting skills while pursuing an SOA designation and contributing to client deliverables and analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with Fall 2025 or Spring 2026 graduation in actuarial/math/stats/econ/engineering.
• Minimum GPA 3.0/4.0.
• Pursuing SOA designation; at least one exam passed.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Develop pricing and valuation models for health plans.
• Price medical and prescription drug designs using Mercer tools.
• Analyze renewals, experience, and project future plan costs.
• Develop underwriting skills and learn health plan design and cost factors.
