Job summary

Mercer is seeking a Sr Health Actuarial Consultant to lead client engagements on health benefits strategies, including financial projections, plan design optimization, and renewal negotiations. You will mentor analysts and serve as the primary financial contact for clients.

The role is hybrid, requiring in-office work at least three days per week, with a focus on data-driven analyses, actuarial soundness, and effective client reporting. Strong ASA progress is expected.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in actuarial science, math, statistics, finance, economics, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years’ actuarial experience with health and benefits consulting.
• Aspiring ASA designation in progress.
• Client-facing experience is required.
• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Lead routine client engagements, manage service delivery, and oversee financial evaluations and renewal processes.
• Review analyses by junior staff to ensure actuarial soundness and mentor their development.
• Utilize AI and technology-enabled tools to enhance work and insights.
• Perform complex analyses and cost projections using Excel, SAS, and other software.
• Draft and review client reports or presentations with actionable recommendations.
