Job summary

The North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority (NCSEAA) is seeking an Accountant II to perform advanced professional accounting for grant-funded initiatives. The role maintains separate records for state appropriations, donor contributions, and education-partner allocations, performs reconciliations, journal entries, closing and reporting, and ensures GAAP and donor compliance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree and 1-2 years of progressively responsible accounting experience; or bachelor's degree and two to four years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP, governmental accounting, financial reporting, internal controls and reconciliations.
• Advanced Excel (formulas, pivot tables, lookups), Word and computerized accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced professional accounting for NCSEAA, including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Maintain separate records for State appropriations, donor contributions, administrative expenses and education-partner allocations; support closing and reporting.
• Ensure GAAP, State, grant and donor compliance; provide backup support to Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
