Job summary

North Carolina State University is seeking a Senior Research Accountant II to provide budgeting, accounting, and grants management support for COS Research Office. The role involves independent problem solving related to budgets, purchasing, travel, and contract management.

You will collaborate with PIs, department staff, and COS offices, performing reviews and ensuring compliance with agency terms and university policies. Experience with federal requirements is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 12 accounting credits required
• CPA/CRA path or active pursuit beneficial
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, purchasing and grants management
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between PIs, department admins, COS Office of Research and Accounting.
• Audit and approve vouchers, travel reimbursements, HR actions, POs and cost transfers.
• Perform budget reviews, summaries and recommendations for allocations and adjustments.
• Conduct quality control on work of accounting staff and ensure policy compliance.
