Job summary

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Graduate Career and Professional Development Manager to advance career pathways for 14 graduate and professional schools. This role partners with campus stakeholders to design programs, coach students, and promote professional growth across disciplines.

You will manage programs, analyze outcomes, teach workshops, and lead university-wide initiatives, balancing deadlines in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; master's or doctorate preferred.
• Two years in career and professional development programming and teaching/advising.
• Excellent oral and written communication for diverse audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
• Commitment to diversity in university-wide programming.
• Ability to educate and mentor in classroom and one-on-one settings.
• Willingness to learn new technologies, including Canvas LMS.
• Experience using spreadsheets to review data and identify trends.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and design graduate career development programs university-wide.
• Collaborate with school career services, Career Center, and units to coordinate programs.
• Manage and communicate student outcomes data; visualize and report findings.
• Teach workshops and speak on career exploration and professional competencies.
• Administer online platforms supporting career development and job searching.
• Promote programs via webpage, email, and social media.
• Liaise with external partners and represent Pitt in programs and grants.
• Collect feedback to improve programs and provide recommendations.
• Provide individual/ small group career counseling when possible.
