Job summary

The Freeman Company is seeking a Buyer to join our Global Supply Chain team in a hybrid schedule, generally in-office and/or show-site 2-3 days per week. You will manage day-to-day procurement, maintain supplier relationships, and support cost-saving initiatives across regions.

Located in McCook, IL (or nearby) with opportunities to work remote part of the week. Strong communication, organization, and P2P system experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; HS diploma with relevant experience acceptable.
• At least 5 years of related procurement experience; trade show/event/hospitality preferred.
• Experience with Coupa and SAP SRM as a heavy end-user or administrator strongly preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day procurement processes and supplier relations.
• Identify new procurement and cost-saving opportunities.
• Establish and maintain Coupa P2P catalogs with products, descriptions, images, and pricing.
• Provide transactional support of requisitions, POs, and invoices to ensure accuracy.
• Triages requisitions for proper reviews and sourcing events.
• Compile metrics/reports on regional and category activity.
• Enable suppliers by reviewing contracts and setting up PO structure.
• Maintain internally managed catalogs with suppliers and stakeholders.
• Assist and/or manage price-change processes per contracts/terms.
• Track and report supplier-related issues and quality defects.
• Collaborate with Buyers to cover vacancies and develop reusable buying strategies.
• Develop continuous improvements to SOPs; train others on P2P systems.
• Ensure excellent customer service to internal/external stakeholders.
