The Utah State Tax Commission is seeking a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst to join our team in Salt Lake City. This role is hybrid, with both in-office and remote work options, and offers an hourly salary range of $30.18 to $49.77.

You will verify boundaries, manage spatial data, run overlay analyses for tax districts, automate geoprocessing tasks, and collaborate with municipal and audit teams to ensure accurate tax maps and district boundaries.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Urban Planning, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Expertise in ArcGIS Pro and SQL for spatial data management.
• Analytical ability to troubleshoot complex spatial problems and reconcile data sources.

Responsabilidades

• Boundary Stewardship & Annexation Management: verify jurisdictional boundaries and resolve discrepancies between municipal annexation records and digital tax district layers.
• Spatial Data Governance: manage, clean, and maintain large-scale spatial databases with standardized metadata.
• Tax District Analysis: perform overlay analysis to define and update taxing district boundaries affecting revenue distribution.
• Workflow Automation: develop scripts to automate routine geoprocessing tasks and improve data-request turnaround.
• Collaboration: liaise with the Tax Commission, local government entities, and internal audit teams to communicate spatial findings to non-technical stakeholders.
