Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Entry Level Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Piscataway, NJ or New York City, NY. The role starts June 2027 and offers exposure to a broad range of geotechnical projects within a global infrastructure firm.

As a candidate, you will build analytic and design skills, perform investigations, collect data, prepare reports, and learn under experienced engineers while contributing to real-world transportation and infrastructure programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited university.
• Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
• EIT certification or equivalent is advantageous.
• Sponsorship is offered for US-based candidates.

Responsibilities

• Builds analytic and design skills.
• Conducts engineering design under supervision.
• Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams and Geotechnical reports under supervision.
• Collects and analyzes data under supervision.
• Performs Geotechnical investigations including soil/rock sampling.
• Develops soil profiles from subsurface data.
• Uses software for foundation, retaining wall and slope stability analyses.
• Works within budget and schedule under supervision.
