Job summary

Wilson Elser is seeking an General Liability Associate Attorney for our Atlanta, GA office. The candidate will handle litigation matters from inception to resolution, with opportunities to work on challenging cases and collaborate with seasoned colleagues nationwide.

The role emphasizes advising clients, managing discovery, and trial preparation in a hybrid work setting. The ideal candidate holds a JD from an ABA-accredited law school, is admitted in Georgia, and has 2+ years of defense

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in the state of Georgia.
• 2+ years of defense litigation experience.
• Experience with litigation involving general liability, premises, products, transportation, or insurance coverage.
• Experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions is a must.
• Superior analytical skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Experience handling court appearances, depositions, and trial experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support a litigation caseload from inception through resolution, including case strategy development, discovery, motion practice, mediation, and trial preparation.
• Draft and argue substantive motions, pleadings, briefs, and legal memoranda in state and federal courts.
• Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
• Manage all aspects of written discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission.
• Represent clients at court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and other dispute resolution proceedings.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop litigation strategies, evaluate risk, and drive matters toward favorable outcomes.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, providing case assessments, litigation updates, and strategic recommendations.
• Work with attorneys across offices on complex matters involving general liability, premises, transportation, and insurance coverage.
• Assist with trial preparation, including witness preparation, exhibit development, and coordination with experts.
• Collaborate with paralegals and litigation support staff to ensure efficient case management.
