Job summary

GFT is seeking an Accountant, General Ledger to join our Philadelphia, PA Accounting Team. This role supports month-end close, maintains GL integrity, and collaborates across finance and operations in a hybrid model.

You will prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations, ensure US GAAP compliance, and assist audits. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to handle confidential information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Confidentiality and integrity in handling data.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Cross-functional collaboration and communication.
• Hybrid work tolerance in Philadelphia.
• Public accounting audit experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares general ledger journal entries, account analyses and reconciliations, including bank reconciliations.
• Coordinates and executes the monthly close process, including resolving discrepancies and verifying transactions in accordance with close process calendar timelines.
• Ensures accurate recording of transactions within the general ledger and GAAP compliance.
• Supports internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
• Participates in ad-hoc projects, reporting and financial analysis as needed.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
