Ford is hiring a Global Data Insight & Analytics engineer to design and maintain scalable data pipelines on GCP. You will implement governance, security, and cost-optimized data flows, collaborating with architects and cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes end-to-end data solutions, automation, and continuous learning, with a hybrid work model and strong salary range for a Grade 8 position. VISA sponsorship available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in Data Engineering or Software Engineering with 2+ years building cloud data platforms (GCP preferred).
• Strong SQL, Java, Python; experience building cloud data pipelines on GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow, DataProc).
• SOA/microservices in a cloud data platform context.
• Experience with relational DBs (PostgreSQL, MySQL), NoSQL and columnar DBs (BigQuery).
• Knowledge of data governance, encryption, masking in cloud environments.
• Familiar with CI/CD, IaC tools (Terraform, Tekton) and automation frameworks.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; cost/resource optimization in GCP.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead design, development, and maintenance of scalable data ingestion and curation pipelines.
• Contribute to end-to-end data flow from source to insight using full-stack skills.
• Lead GCP data solutions with BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, etc.
• Implement robust data governance, access controls, and security practices in GCP.
• Use Astronomer and Terraform for data workflows and IaC provisioning.
• Monitor and optimize performance, scalability and cost of data pipelines.
• Collaborate with data architects, service owners and cross-functional teams.
• Automate data platform processes to improve reliability and data quality.
• Communicate complex technical decisions clearly to stakeholders.
• Continuously learn industry trends and translate requirements into optimized designs.
• Document data engineering processes for knowledge sharing.
