Job summary

The American Lung Association in Chicago, IL, seeks a Manager, Fundraising & Direct Response to lead the email fundraising program and automated journeys, coordinating with external agencies and internal teams to drive revenue and donor engagement.

This role focuses on strategy, content development, testing, deployment, analytics, and the integration of donation forms, SMS tools, and cross-channel campaigns, with a hybrid in-office/remote schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5-7 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, direct response marketing, or digital fundraising.
• Demonstrated experience and ownership of driving revenue and engagement through email campaigns and marketing automation programs.

Responsibilities

• Manages the email fundraising and donor cultivation campaigns, including strategy, planning, review, testing, deployment, and performance optimization.
• Serve as day-to-day contact with external fundraising agency partners and coordinate briefs, schedules, and results.
• Support campaign strategy and content development to improve conversion, retention, and donor lifetime value.
• Build, execute and maintain automated campaigns and journeys that support donor cultivation and reactivation.
