Job summary

State Farm is seeking a software engineer to design, develop, and support enterprise applications within the Enterprise Technology group. The role involves working in a hybrid environment near the Bloomington, IL hub, contributing to cloud-native solutions using Java, Spring Boot, REST, and AWS services.

You will participate in agile ceremonies, advance CI/CD practices with GitLab and GitOps, and continually expand your knowledge in containers, security, and database technology.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Java / J2EE and related frameworks such as Spring Boot.
• Experience in building REST services and cloud-native architectures.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and GitOps practices.
• Knowledge of AWS services (S3, Lambda, DynamoDB).
• Experience designing and implementing solutions in AWS via automation (Terraform) and AI-assisted tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, test, and support applications meeting technical specs or business needs.
• Provide technical consultation and problem resolution support to partners.
• Identify problems and devise long-term, repeatable solutions for customers/grantors.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Learn new technical concepts quickly and share knowledge with the team.
