MercyFirst, a not-for-profit human and social service agency, invites applications for a Casework Supervisor in the Enhanced Family Foster Care program in Ozone Park, NY. You will oversee all aspects of assigned cases and supervise staff, ensuring high-quality services and compliant documentation.

Responsibilities include hiring and training staff, conducting monthly meetings, guiding caseworkers on treatment goals, coordinating field visits and foster home visits, and representing the program

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in social work or related field.
• Minimum 2+ years supervising staff in child welfare.
• Minimum 2+ years foster care experience.
• Knowledge of child development stages and family dynamics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Has a valid driver’s license (preferred).
• Committed to agency mission and social justice.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of assigned cases and supervise staff.
• Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate staff.
• Coordinate monthly staff meetings.
• Assist caseworkers in developing treatment goals for children.
• Ensure field visits to clients' homes, schools, and treatment centers.
• Conduct monthly foster home visits to assess care and safety.
• Monitor required services and outcomes for each child.
• Ensure documentation within established timeframes.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings; mentor new staff.
• Respond to emergencies and assist with budgets.
• Maintain program statistics and prepare reports.
• Represent the program in community and professional organizations.
