Job summary

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking a Financial Resource Specialist in the Division of Support Enforcement and Recovery (DSER) for Bangor, Maine. This full-time role offers a partial telework schedule with management approval after the six-month probation period.

Responsibilities include data collection and analysis, establishing medical support obligations, and enforcement of child support, with duties spanning case processing, reporting, and coordination with field

Qualifications

• Four-year combination of education, training, and/or progressively responsible administrative/clerical experience.
• Preferred experience with the Division of Support Enforcement & Recovery (DSER).
• Demonstrated interviewing and data gathering skills to inform eligibility determinations.
• Strong communication and customer service abilities.
• Proficiency with standard desktop tools and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• From initial case processing, begin investigation and gather demographics and employment information.
• Determine medical insurance obligations and initiate establishment proceedings.
• Calculate health insurance costs and issue withholding orders as needed.
• Provide support for financial accounts, distributions, and debt calculations.
• Ensure data is entered in CSEME and assist with reporting and analysis.
• Support field staff with program data analysis and process improvements.
• Conduct outreach to custodial parents and service providers about services.
• Complete periodic and ad hoc reports for agents and management.
