Job summary

Penn National Insurance in Harrisburg, PA is seeking a Manager, Financial Reporting to lead the statutory and GAAP financial reporting processes. You will oversee staff development, ensure timely filings, and coordinate internal and external reports and board reporting.

This hybrid role reports to the Harrisburg office and requires strong technical accounting knowledge, supervision experience, and excellent communication with auditors and regulators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• CPA, CPCU or MBA preferred.
• Minimum five years in public accounting and/or insurance accounting.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, direct and coach staff with clear objectives and performance criteria.
• Lead reporting practices for statutory and GAAP financial statements.
• Oversee preparation of internal and external financial reports and filings.
• Ensure timely regulatory filings and state insurance tax compliance.
• Maintain general ledger close processes and reconciliations.
• Coordinate audits, board reporting and management inquiries.
