Job summary

HRB, based in Pittsburgh, PA, seeks a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to prepare external financial and internal management reports. You will perform technical accounting research, manage debt/equity accounting, and contribute to policy maintenance.

The role supports SOX compliance, audits, and financial analysis for management. Hybrid work in Pittsburgh combines in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 2+ years Public Accounting experience preferred.
• Strong proficiency with MS Office, Outlook and Internet applications.
• Analytical, detail-oriented with solid budgeting and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation and review of all financial filings.
• Provide analysis to operational management on financial information.
• Research, analyze, and document technical accounting items.
• Ensure timely journalization of assigned accounts to the general ledger.
• Maintain and update accounting policies for new pronouncements and ventures.
• Reconcile designated GL accounts monthly and report findings.
• Ensure inter-company accounts are balanced quarterly.
• Prepare audit schedules for quarterly and year-end external audits.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reporting packages.
• Participate in SOX compliance activities including documentation and testing.
• Provide analysis projects for management on hot topics.
• Provide training to senior and staff accountants.
• Provide support to senior and staff accountants.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
